I guess I am not clear how this works now.
That is okay - neither am I!I guess I am not clear how this works now.

I think, but am not sure, that Sean attempted to re-instate the Trader History utility after the upgrade but due to difficulties had to put that on hold.
You posted your thread in the sub-forum that was intended for giving feedback and suggestions to Sean and us moderators about how the Classifieds work -site feedback essentially.
I moved your comment instead to the existing thread that was set up to permit posting of buyer and seller feedback - sales transaction feedback.
I'm going to flag this for Sean's attention, but he is quite busy at the moment.
I appreciate Sean chiming in on this.
But I can't figure out how to actually input anything into the Trader History - leave feedback.

If you click the link that says 'Trader history for <member name>' you'll be presented with a page that contains links for submitting feedback for the member as either a buyer or a seller.

I guess Sean doesn't want us moderators to be able to submit feedback - no submit feedback link for me

Every once in a while we come across an area of functionality where the permission set for moderators results in an unintended result - at least I think it is unintended!

Oops, sorry, I assumed everyone had those links enabled. I have to assume that's a mistake.
So I have bought and sold lots of stuff over the years. I am sure if I check my feedback it will say zero. Hopefully that won't go against me.
Unfortunately it seems to be a challenge to get some buyers/sellers to use the feedback system. I've had more transactions here than are reflected in my feedback as well.So I have bought and sold lots of stuff over the years. I am sure if I check my feedback it will say zero. Feedback should be available to non- subscribers as well. As this serves a safety/security feature to all parties involved and for future transactions.
Sadly spammers would use this as an attack vector and it's very hard to clear out the feedback system if a scammer flooded it with 1,000s of messages.
I don't know how hard this would be to implement at Photrio, but it might be nice if the classifieds system generated a unique transaction id for each WTB and FS post that was only visible to the poster. At the end of the transaction, the buyer or seller would make the code available to the other party. Each party would use the code when entering feedback. The feedback system would reject submissions containing codes it did not generate. This would prevent the spamming of the feedback system and would also allow feedback to be associated with a given sale.
Just a thought...

Something like that would work, I can suggest it to the developer, thanks

I working is software development since October 1962 and such an algorithm would allow the seller to verify that the buyer was indeed the same scammer that initially contacted the buyer. It would provide not protection. The verified identification of the other party in other end of an internet conversation is an ancient software problem that needs other means of validation such as multi mode second confirmation.

Then by all means , make a viable suggestion, I mean with 60 years experience, that's the least you could do, no?
