I am looking for a lighter tripod for my 4X5 set up (Tech V).

Has anybody out there tried these new imports from Adorama? The price looks attractive.....

I think these are too new for any reliable reviews to have been written. I'm going to take a wild-ass guess (WAG) at it and say these are probably re-badged Benro tripods/heads. If that is the case, the legs will be ok, but don't get their ballheads. There was an article written and linked to elsewhere on this site about how the heads look great on the outside but are very poorly designed inside.

YES! I picked up a set of Benro Legs and a Benro Ballhead 3 months ago. The Benro legs are ok (not up to Gitzo or Manifrotto quality - but useable). My Benro ballhead is poorly designed and disfunctional.

I bought a set up for Christmas mainly to use with my Tachihara. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to really use it yet. First impression though is good. Set up in the house with the Tachihara on it, it seems like it should do the job, especially at just over 4 lbs. total weight. Beats carrying the 8 lb Bogen around. I got the middle size, rated at 17.5 lbs. If you get their ball head, get the largest one. As far as quality, it all depends one what you are putting on it. But for a 3.5-4 lbs field camera, even the medium head seems Ok.

Thanks

Thanks for the comments. I'll probably wait for a chance to see one of these or run across a deal on one of the more standard brands.

There have been a lot of nice things said about Feisol on the LF Forum. I have no personal experience, but a lot of knowledgable people have said good things. I am still lugging wood about.
