Hi everyone--
I just wanted to mention how totally amazingly happy I am about finding this website. After reading so much bad news about film in recent months, I needed a pick-me-up like this site. I'm a photography student in San Francisco, also a peer mentor (assistant to the instructor) here at City College San Francisco. I'm a film buff to say the least. Most everyone thinks I'm a digital hater (which may or may not be true) but I think of myself as a film lover more so. Digital has its place, and is the perfect thing for a lot of people, I'm just not one of them. But what do I know, I also like Edsels...

Anyway, howdy!

Matt

Welcome Matt, anti-digital works for me (even if you aren't).

JJ, an "Edsel" was Ford's better idea from the 1950's and was named after Edsel Ford. It cost Ford Motor Company about $250,000,000 to be a big dud. It was supposed to sell to males because of a subliminal message about.... Well, take a look at the front grill and see if you think it was a good idea. tim

Dear Tim,

I'd never heard that story before, but if it's true, I can't help feeling that the 'horse collar' might possibly inspire feelings of inadequacy in some of the less well endowed. Of course, I can't speak for myself...

Oh, by the way, welcome, Matt.

Cheers,

R. (www.rogerandfrances.com -- mainly for film photographers)
