Then why is maco direct not selling any of their own brand Rollei? Why use another name?

And is this a brand new emulsion or another emulsion that's re-cut to 127 size, and if so which emulsion?

Stephan Barth of MACO announced it last February, and I'm pretty sure they'll release it under the Rollei name.
It is to appear in the first half year of 2014, so I expect they'll offer it soon.

This Rera-pan 100-127 in your opening post appears to be something else though.

I thought he had said about 127 so this is good news, hope it sells for less than $10/roll. And in a 400 speed emulsion at some point....

I'm getting tired of re-rolling the HP5+ it's fine, just that it's time consuming, I love the actual film!

it SEEMED like it said that it was maco film that the otter shop
decided to have spooled on their own and sell as their own house-film.
i'm still kind of confused by my poor google-translation...

I've heard that Rollie plan to come out with their own B&W 127 film soon.

Some say ReraPan is kodak, other say it's Acros100, if it's the latter I'm buying a LOT MORE of it....

Interesting. Since it is from Japan, and perhaps it could be Acros. It just doesn't seem like it is T-MAX but I don't know. I don't have any foundation for that belief haha

Yea, if it were Acros100 I would think fuji would WANT people to know, reciprocity rates and all...

Well, guess I'll find out soon enough. I succumbed to the GAS and just picked up a 127 TLR. Wish that this film was slightly less expensive, but glad that it is an option. I wish that the Frugal Photographer's/Bluefire Ilford HP5 127 wasn't $15, plus nearly $15 that they would charge for shipping.

Well, guess I'll find out soon enough. I succumbed to the GAS and just picked up a 127 TLR. Wish that this film was slightly less expensive, but glad that it is an option. I wish that the Frugal Photographer's/Bluefire Ilford HP5 127 wasn't $15, plus nearly $15 that they would charge for shipping.

In another month or so Ilford will have their yearly ULF special order, buy a bulk roll (or two) of 46mm film, then re-roll your own, breaks down to $5/roll instead.

I wonder if these guys are hand rolling the film. The backing paper + spool on the film look just like Efke. I thought that I read something at one point that said that Efke hand rolled their 127 film. Has anyone used the Rera Pan? They recommend loading in low light, but is it pretty sensitive to light when loading?

I did get one roll which I have not done anything with yet. The paper and spool look identical to those that EFKE was using. Perhaps the Japanese folks bought up the remaining stock of paper/spools.

I have it, haven't used it, I can't comment on the paper but the spool is identical. I'll use my test roll shortly to see, wish I had gotten a few to test, I hadn't thought that this could be EFKE film, I thought they had rolled EVERYTHING and shipped it all out before they closed.

Developed my roll. 15 minutes @68º was about right in Caffenol CM with iodized salt. looks good. No edge markings. Nice stuff. Doesn't seem to have any bad habits. Curls a little tightly as you put it on the reel and needed a little weight when i hung it to dry, but when dry it was nice and flat.

Anyone yet figure out what this stuff is?

I have a new found interest in 127. My mother passed away at the age of 86 on Thanksgiving morning. When back up in TN over Christmas I found her old Brownie. Not only was this my mother's camera, that accompanied us to quite a few family vacations in the late 60s through early to mid 70s (it was supplanted by Polaroid and then my growing 35mm usage) but it was also the camera which shot the very first film I ever developed and printed. I was an astronomy nut, interested in getting started in astrophotography which pretty much requires developing your own film (back when it was all done on film.) I didn't have a 35mm camera yet (I was to get one that Christmas, if memory of the time line serves) but saved my pennies and dimes and bought a little darkroom kit from Edmund Scientific - Yankee tank and reel, a small pack of 3.5x5 single weight Kodabrom I think it was, some packets of powdered chemistry, a red bulb, some 4x5 trays etc. and a little plastic fixed size horizontal enlarger with plastic lens. Well I couldn't wait for the camera, so I got a roll of Verichrome Pan, loaded it into my mom's Brownie, shot it up and went to it in the bathroom with a towel stuffed under the door while my encouraging but bemused parents scratched their heads outside about what their weird son was doing now. I'm not sure how old I was but this would have been probably some time in 73-75 so I was 10-12, most likely.

The lens on the camera looks in good shape. The viewfinder is almost opaque with decades of dust and dirt and grime but if I can find something small enough to get into the little window and clean it with it will suffice. I need to think of some kind of memorial project to shoot with this camera, but I also need to find some film first (backwards wound C41 doesn't cut it - why on earth can't they also offer some wound normally??)

I still have some of the tanks with adjustable plastic reels, and I'm pretty sure I can just mask off one of my 120 sized negative carriers if I can't find the right one for my Omega D2. Heck, I don't even know what size that IS precisely. Does the Brownie shoot 4x4 cm frames?

Roger, I'm very sorry for your loss.

On a photographic note, nice find. Some of the brownies shoot a 4x4cm square, some other formats, so it would depend on the model. I can't speak for the quality of the ReraPan film, but I did shoot and develop some Blufire Murano 400 speed color and am very impressed with the results.
