Hey everyone,

I have a little problem with my DURST CLS 1000 color head, mounted on a 138. I hope someone can help me out.
Lately, pushing the negative carrier in or pulling it out has become not as smooth as before. There is some sort of friction but I can't really understand where. I suppose it has to do with the diffusion box, if I change it the problem is less evident. Unless necessary, I don't want to mess with grease or other things. Is there something I can do? Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks a lot,
Best
Francesco

I'd be inclined to lubricate that with a tiny bit of graphite.
I don't see how that setup is supposed to slide smoothly without any form of lubrication.

Uhhh I did not know about the graphite lubricant. I will try that. Thanks again!

It's a blessing and a curse in this context. It's free of any grease or volatile compounds. Then again, graphite is basically tiny bits of carbon, so there's always a risk of some dropping into film. If you use only a little and don't put any film directly below the film carrier as you slide it out of the head, you should be OK though.
