Needle oiler for Canon squeak fix?

I may buy a local Canon A-1, which may, or may not exhibit the typical shutter squeak, a need for lubrication in a specific spot.

I read elsewhere that the best tool to oil the spot on the camera is a needle oiler, bent to fit.

Where does one get a decent quality needle oiler, or, what is a good alternate tool?

Check out Micro-Tools and do a search on "oil syringe".
I bought some of the 5cc and 10cc plastic syringes and a long needle like this one.
It was just the right length to work on an AE-1 and slightly bendable.

although any camera repair person will tell you that the spot that needs to be lubed should be cleaned and have a dash of lube applied as part of general overhaul. Far too many A series Canons need a complete tear down with new shutter curtains after someone spritzed Oil all over the place and Gummed up the works.

even heard one tech say that he would perfer to get a camera with the squeak, as it is less likely to need every part disassembled and run though the ultrasonic cleaner.

I agree with Charles, more damage is done just by blindly poking lubricant inside the camera.

Being that this is a relatively common issue with A-series Canons, I found multiple YouTube videos that identified the specific lubrication points required to fix this, and the best type/amount of oil to use.
That being said, I wholly agree that it is not a wise move to try lubricating a camera without disassembly & cleaning, or without knowledge of the internal components that require attention.

Just search Amazon for syringes and blunt needles.

I find plastic syringes a bad tool, due to the chance of pushing the piston too much, unless the micro-drop is already formed outside a device and then applied under sight.

The "Canon A series sqeak" is nothing to do with the shutter it's caused by the mirror bearing needing lubricating. I suggest you look on YouTube to learn how to do it.

Depends on the syringe you get. There are some very thin ones that give good control.

My point is not the needle, but the friction between piston and cylinder at a plastic syringe, thus my advise to form a micro-droplet outside any device and then apply that under sight.

Like I said, there are some very thin SYRINGES.

I get syringes with needles for oiling small assemblies at a store that sells horse and dairy supplies.

Here you can buy syringes and needles at each pharmacy. All you have to do is grinding the needle blunt.
