I have an Omega model Audible Repeating Timer from the '60's with a two-prong polarized 120 vac outlet. I discovered the hard way that the polarity was inverted internally - polarity was correct from the power cord but flipped in the internal wiring to the outlet to the enlarger. I had to unsolder the internal wiring and flip the polarity back, which turned out to be harder than it should have been because of how the internal wiring was designed. It looked like a fundamental design mistake rather than a defective single item so if you try to use one of these older models double-check that the polarity is correct at every input and output. Besides being dangerous it could also wreck electronics in more modern equipment.
