A friend has a box of 12x18 Kodak Polychrome Duplicating film type 2553 that he doesn't want and he has asked me if I would like it. I have searched the web including Kodak and the Kodak Graphics sites and have not come with anything closer than type 2556.
Can anyone tell me what this stuff is?
If it turns out to be halftone film, is it useable for anything other than making dots  ?

cheers and thank you

Dead Link Removed on photo.net gives some clues, though it doesn't mention that film by name.

I don't think it's halftone film but I lost track after Kodak bought out Polychrome who's press plates I used for years.

Thank you Mark,

I found the Polychrome website and submitted a request for info on their tech support page. Maybe I'll get an answer (although I'm not holding my breath  )

cheers
