You really don't need a specialist tape for filmholders.

A suggestion that has often been made here is to use bookbinders' tape. Assuming you don't need a lot, you might be able to make an arrangement with a library to get enough for your needs. Perhaps making a small donation would help.

I've done successful repairs using colored vinyl tape. Home centers sometimes carry colored electrical tapes - that enable you to repair film holders and color code them at the same time.

I've also used black photographer's masking tape. That's not as permanent, but its easily replaceable.

I got mine from a fabric store, took a holder there and the women helped me select the perfect size, I cemented the tape in place and all is perfect as can be. Assuming that you are talking about the tape on the end for the flaps. Good luck, Curt

I use black Photographers Tape, an opaque "masking tape" type paper tape that is fairly durable, and thin enough, and black. 3M makes this. It probably won't last as long as cloth tape, but it is fairly durable..I have had some holders with this tape for 20 years and it is still good.

GB,

send a PM with the address, I'll get it out this weekend.

Happy Holidays.
