I've been in the LF world since 1964 but haven't paid much attention to lense design improvements since the 80's. I did recently purchase a new 72mm XL SA and a Nikkor T 360/500/720 set but other than that I haven't purchased a new lens since the 70's. Where can I find specs on current lenses and if possible compared to some of the older glass. Image circle is mainly what I'm looking for. I'm getting back into 5x7 and use longer glass. I have a 14 and 19 inch red dots in Ilex 4's but these appear to be quite large compared to current lenses. I also have a very fine 240 G Claron that I particularly like. I've recently notiuced the 300M Nikkor, 300C Fuji and saw a 300A fuji. I've seen some info on the 300C vs the 300M but know nothing about the 300A. The 300 A Fuji is a very small lens and looks like a nice one but I know nothing about it. Can someone tell me the difference in the A and the C and how they compare in performance. Any other suggestions.
I have a very nice array of glass for my 4x5's that will work fine in the shorter region but I'm looking for compact in the long.
Thanks!!!
