Need advice on repairing Perkeo I self timer

Recently I found a Perkeo I that looked awful; dirty and mildewed, but it was in a nice case which I don't have for my Perkeo II and it had a nice Voigtlander rangefinder on it so I bought it. After I cleaned it up it turned out to be in remarkably good shape except for a self timer that is jammed in the on position. I need some advice on how to get the shutter out so I can determine what is causing the timer to jam. I don't see any screws holding the shutter assembly together. Anybody know anything about these little beauties? Thanks in advance.

A common problem with old leaf shutters. When it's stuck, you can often gently nudge the shutter cocking lever a bit and it should become unstuck.

The shutter needs a general cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment. If you send it to Jurgen Kreckel, he specializes in old folders and can check other things on the camera as well. He goes by "certo6" on eBay. Frank Marshman at CameraWiz in Harrisonburg, VA also has done a fine job with the old folders I've sent him.

I have a new old-stock pronto that came with the timer jammed. I took off the cover and it righted itself. Seems that there was bit of pressure on it that went away when the front came off. I "cleaned" it while I was there (blew out dust, put a drop of naptha on the pinions and looked the thing over - not a real cleaning but hey, it was a $5 buy at a photo show) added the tiniest smidgeon of teflon-based oil to the timer pinion and closed it up. I will probably regret the oil, but it all seems to be working right now. What I did NOT find was any spring ready to leap for the floor or hit me in the eye. I took nothing apart after removing the covers and all was well.

Did I mention that I'm kind of a clutz with small things?
