Hello,

I need your advice for a storage problem I am facing. For my 35mm negatives I store them in PrintFile contact proofing preserver (CP 35-7HB). It can holds 35 negs + one 8x10 contact sheet. I put them in binders and I find it very useful.

My problem is I am looking for similar storage for 6x9 negs. I went trough the storage stuff at freestylephoto, where I usually found all what I need, but I did not see anything similar to the CP 35-7HB but in a sort of 6x9 version.

Do you have any suggestions ? You, medium format shooters, what do you do to store your 6x9 negs ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and ideas.

I use the 120 4UB for my 6x7. It would hold 12, but there are only 10 on a roll. It would easily hold 4 strips of 2 6x9 negs. But, the 120 4B should also, and it will fit in a regular binder. The UB takes a special oversize binder.

Thanks for pointing me in the good direction, the 120 4B would be perfect since it contact prints on 8x10. I will give them a try but I am pretty sure they will do a great job. Thanks again.

I use Print File catalogue number 120-1. You may not like these because they are not sheets/pages - they hold a single cut strip of film (4 6x6, and, I imagine, 2 6x9 frames).

4" x 10" are the overall dimensions.

They can be stored in archival boxes (I think Light Impressions makes a size that fits these); but I use mini polypropylene "tool boxes" that they sell at our local Fred Meyer Supermarket (the strips fit perfectly and the boxes hold a few hundred - and cost $3.49 each).

I like them because I discard my "out-takes" from each roll - and I prefer not have shots from a variety of rolls on one negative page (or blank space on a sheet).
Also, they jive with my 4x5 filing system (in which I use PrintFile catalogue #4x5-1).

They're hard to find, though - I order them directly from PrintFile.
