Finally got the gumption to tear into my Sinar Zoom 2 to see why it was not working right.

Looks like this might be the culprit. I’m a boat mechanic and would call this a belt. Not sure what you folks who do camera repair would call it. Looks like a rubber band.

where does one go to pick up something like this? I’m pretty sure a a rubber band would just be a very temporary fix in this arid climate.

the exp/load lever is also split and not doing what it is supposed to do. Any thoughts on what to do about this?

Belts with circular core can be made from/typically are O-rings. If you cannot get a respective size O-ring, cement it yourself from respective rubber wire (to make custom O-rings).

This one is square. Never heard of rubber wire. Thanks

Check with Sinar. I believe I bought the last replacement part in the US some years ago and that Switzerland had none left. I hope this isn't true.
