Is there any way to force this camera to operate without film in it? It seems to insist on film before doing anything.
I need to check it over before I sell it off. Can't sell it without first being sure it actually works.

Over time, I have gathered several cassettes of film that are not useable for one reason or another. I use these to test the mechanics of cameras.

It need to be on frame one, yes?

You can lie to the camera by opening the back and wedging the finger that senses the door's closed. Just use a toothpick,
insert ii far enough to hold the sensor in but don't force it.

The camera does not require film to operate, if it works like an N8008s. Check your settings and put it on M, S, etc. You might want to look at the manual for the camera online. You do have to have the back closed I'm pretty sure. Make sure the ISO is not on the default DX, but change it to 200 or something.

Put the camera in manual focus and manual exposure and you should be able to fire with back closed.
If you want to observe shutter, it can be done thru the lens or thru the mount with lens removed.

Or open the back and look for a pin in the door's border area that signals camera that back is closed and press it with a tooth pick or your nail or...

Found the answer myself. Simply depress the two rewind buttons as if there were film in the camera. The camera will go through the rewind motions and can then be used without film in it.
