Dorothy,

You mentioned on a previous visit that you might want to photograph the old dilapidated (read picturesque) 1964 trailer rotting in the field where the tents are put up. If you or anyone else wants to photograph it, please do. If a gentle breeze doesn’t do it for me I will be knocking the side walls off and using it as a flat bed trailer after you are here. My nearly new 1962 garden tractor has been giving me some expensive trouble. There is a practically show room condition 1972 tractor form Dolly’s first marriage stored in the barn that I plan to tow up on the trailer and get running again. It’s hydrostatic transmission does not allow for being towed on its own wheels much like the one in our SUV.

My schedule looks OK for the weekend, though I can't say for sure I can make it because it sometimes turns out that as soon as plans are made, someone changes the schedule. Presuming all is OK until then I have plenty of new prints I am anxious to show to the group.

Also, some loose ends:
Jeff--Would you like a negative strip read by my densitometer to check yours? Or I could read a strip of yours and e-mail you the results to double check.

Dorothy--I am still interested in a color meter if available.

Peter--I am still interested in the rotary trimmer.

jolefler--I can bring my Bolex H-8 Rex with the rare EE Zoom Switar if you would like to see it.

John--Let me know if you need a hand getting the tractor running, I 'm off this weekend.

Anyone--I can bring some LithA and LithB developer that is known to work and a 'safe' flashlight. If you bring some paper and a negative it would only take about 30 minutes to setup and run some lith prints if John has some fix and stop available. I am totally out of any paper that works for lith.

Glad you have a schedule now. Congratulations. Glad that you will be coming. Thanks for the offer to help with the tractor. There are too many time consuming things to do to prepare for the event, so I plan to start that project after the gathering. I will let you know if it bogs down and help is needed. Thanks.

My understanding from Dorothy is that the toning chemicals are not what we want going back into our well even with a trip through the septic system. She said they are pretty nasty. I don't know, but Dolly and I want to be able to attend our next gathering.

Ok, I see that discussion now in the prior thread. However, my lith prints all get that orange brown color without toning. No extra steps beyond standard FB or RC paper processing. Thats one of the things that makes it such a neat process.

Please bring the prize winner unless it is still on display or sold. I am trying to remember which one it is and think we really shouldn't have to remember. Besides with my senior brain there are no memories. A winner like yours deserves a repeat performance.

House rule #3 also applies to tambourines, especially on top of the house.

With Daniel joining us I am reminded that he and I had remarkably different, but enjoyable interpretations of O’Neal Lake, two years running at Bill Schwab’s Photostock gathering. That led me to question, would you as a group like to go to a lovely pond to shoot at sun set after dinner Saturday? We could do show and tell at the house in the afternoon.

The park with this pond is four miles from our house on the way to the town of Peninsula. We could have an early dinner in Peninsula, hike into Sylvan Pond at Oak Hill Park. The hike is ½ mile one way on a fairly level trail that is a mixture of gravel and hard packed dirt. Are you interested? Can you move your gear one mile round trip? My jogger would be available if one person needs it. It can handle one set of gear with tripod for 4x5 up through 7x17. It works best with a tripod that has spikes to go through the running board. I received an email that the Steckmeyers, Bob and Ann will be joining us with an interest in the Ledges and the Farmer's Market. They are having trouble getting on APUG. I put in a service request. No doubt they will have more to say when that is resolved.

The pond sounds nice. We are also planning on coming in Friday night, so we can go and shoot at the ledges early Saturday morning with anyone interested. Really, we'll go for whatever the group is up for.

The bacon ice cream batch is made up and ready to be churned. Yum!

Dolly just did a practice run off Peach ice cream on her one quart maker. It is the best I have ever had. Jeff, do you have your own ice cream churner or are you bringing the mix for Dolly to churn? I ask because she wants to make several batches and we don't want to have the logistics of this tripping over ourselves. There is a God.

It's only the best because you haven't had bacon ice cream yet! We have a ice cream maker, which we will bring. I will just need to freeze the cylinder Friday night in your freezer. Then I can churn it Saturday afternoon and it will be ready to be devoured.

To all interested. Please know that this is a gathering of film users, mostly LF and MF. We are two miles from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. At this point we have people attending from four states. It is all about the enjoyment of photography, shooting more film, meeting and enjoying like minded people and seeing what they are printing. The welcome mat is out. If you miss this one, our fifth in eleven months, we will probably have another one in two or three months.

Happy that this idea is working out.

As of today I'm planning on being there Friday evening through Sunday. Got a couple of test prints out yesterday. Working with a new darkroom setup, enlarger and enlarging meter, so adjusting and reorganizing the darkroom as I go, slowly. Will have fewer days to print than I expected this week due to family schedule changes, but should have a few to show and observations to share. One is that I really like Nicholas' DA enlarging meter a lot.

Looking forward to the good company and fun. Also recalled I need to bring the Greene "Primitive Photography" book for Bethe to see, but she only gets to see it if she shows the lens(es) she's made and reports on the pinhole weekend.

Are we doing a group dinner Friday? Time?

I expect to be there Saturday afternoon/early evening. I am considering staying for Sunday also. It has been awhile since I have taken the masterview out for a walk. Looking into hotels, but wondering if there are still some space open for a tent.

Great. We always have room for another tent. If not now we will just mow some more of the field. If you decide on a motel the Hampton Inn Richfield at the OH Tpk. and Rt. 77 has been the most popular though there are several in a five mile circle from the house.

Do you need directions? If so from where?

We are the first of three houses on our driveway. If we are not there when you arrive we will try to post information on the door to the left of the garage doors. If you need to wait a few minutes there are chairs and a patio on the pond side of the house. Be comfortable or shoot some pictures. Several visitors have enjoyed the pond. There are two Labrador Retrievers in the house that may bark at you. Just wave at them. They are inside and you are outside.
