Saturday 6:15 PM

Tentatively meet back at our house 7 PM Saturday.
If it is possible that anyone is hungry after the gastronomic debauchery at the New Era, the three Musketeers is a mile away.

If not, it is on to print and collection showing.

Shawn, I hope you and Lynn are safe and catch up with us around the print table.

Very special thanks again to John and Dolly for making a very nice weekend possible for all of us, even when dealing with their own trials.

Thanks also to Peter for the great demonstration and for showing us some excellent new places to shoot. And to everyone else, thanks for the great company and fine work shown.

Thanks Lee. Thanks also to Peter for a great demo, beautifully prepared and executed. It was fun to see everyone, see and hear what they were doing and make future plans. Glad we had new people adding their work and enthusiasm. Come on back. Hope we can get some missing persons from PA back again at future events.

We concur. It was a great time as always, and it was good to see new faces among our friendly group. Thanks again John!

Thanks again John & Dolly for hosting a great weekend! Got to see everybody's fine work, burn 10 sheets of film, and even mess around with the dangerously addictive 7x17.

PS: Anyone ever been to Squire's Castle? Looks like it might be an interesting place to shoot next time.

Been there a bunch of times. It's fun, kind of cliche for photos, and will most likely be riddled with kids & families no matter when you choose to go. It's a very popular weekend picnic/recreation/photo spot in the metroparks.

The family reunion in Hocking Hills was wonderful. Too bad I missed you all, Dolly & John does a great job of hosting.

Jeff,
I've been to Squire's Castle, unique place, I'd rather be in Scotland but for Ohio it's not bad. Early might be nice without all the tourists.

....even mess around with the dangerously addictive 7x17.

I sent Mat home with Clyde Rogers' For sale ad from the LF Forum for a Canham 7x17, six SS filmholders and some other stuff all previously owned by Sandy King. That should cause some sleepless nights. I told him I only waited fifty years for mine. I have noticed that for some unexplained reason that well meant comment does not lead to greater patience in anyone.

Glad you all were here.

Very sorry to have missed you Saturday. I had to drop off work for a juried show Saturday afternoon in Warren (which I had thought was next weekend). We made a quick detour to Nelson's Ledges on the way over and it started pouring rain so we stopped at Peter's friend "Randall's" in Garretsville for food - he gave us the boot because reservations are now required on weekends! So... we ended up at the Brewery in the old mill next door and the rain never stopped. We wussed out and headed back home... It was our loss as I regret not seeing everyone's new work!

The good news is that both of my 4x5 prints were accepted in the show at Warren... I had not entered or otherwise shown anything this year so was glad to have something to put on the resume.

I'm planning on a fall sunrise shoot or two at Nelson Ledges once it cools down a bit so I'll be sure to post when I'm going in case any of the locals want to join me. (We've done this before and had a great time.) Maybe we can make reservations for lunch at Randall's again!

Thanks John and Dolly for hosting another great event. I was only there Saturday, but that was quite a bit of activity to do in one day-very nice!

I didn’t think we would ever go so public about such a private thing until it turned into an emergency last Friday that meant we were not going to be here last Friday for the start of the event.

Dolly and I spent the morning today at the Cleveland Clinic’s Women’ Heath Department for what she described as very intensive and painful mammography. There was an evaluating doctor on site. He sent her home with instructions that there was no need for further exploration. That direction was very good news and a wonderful twentieth wedding anniversary present.

Thank you all for your well wishes and concerns.

If anyone is interested in playing with DBI, here are some cheap options on green #3 safelights. The Kodak model B lights with the green #3 dome are abundant on ebay for $10-$20. These take a 7W bulb. You'll just have to rig up a footswitch setup.
Thanks Peter. I have a Kodak Brownie Safelight Kit with the green dome. For others that are interested, I plan to test green LED light as well when I get the time. The #3 green safelight filter passes under 0.02% of light in a narrow passband centered on 520nm. The green LEDs I have are centered on 525nm, and I plan to dim them to match the output of Peter's setup and/or the Brownie Model B green dome. (I'll pre-emptorally state that I'm not up for discussing on APUG whether or not the LEDs will work for DBI. PM me if you want to be in touch about it.) I'll let folks know how it works when/if I get the chance to test or at our next gathering.

IIRC, Doug, a new visitor to John and Dolly's this last weekend says he's used this foot switch, which isn't really tough enough for constant industrial use, but works fine for most of our darkroom purposes. http://www.harborfreight.com/momentary-power-foot-switch-96619.html
