Hi Gene!

I would like to drop off my photos during the week, during regular gallery hours, and I'll let you know when before December 30th, in case you need/want to be there...

As far as the reception, I don't think I'll be able to make it the 19/20, as that is a long holiday weekend, and I hope to be away skiing, the 12/13 is probably a better bet for me, but do what is best for the group...

Cheers, K

OK, I have been hiding in the darkroom trying to get some printing done for this exhibit, so please don't feel neglected.
A couple of items I forgot to mention in my last post: first a reminder... if you can, please make a small tax-deductible donation to the VPC to help defray the cost of the opening reception; $10.00 each would be nice;
and for any of you shipping your work to In A Flash, please include a check for return postage/shipping.

Now on to other matters.
I will be at the VPC this Saturday, Dec 22 from about 10:00 to whenever. I can be there Sunday 12/23, but please contact me if you choose to stop by them with your work. As far as the following weekend, I will be incarcerated at work for inventory on Sat 12/29, but I can try to get someone there from about 11:00 - 2:00 or so if needed. Please contact me if that Sat is when you can make it. I will make myself available on Sunday 12/30 for anyone who wants to drop off work that day. Actually, please contact me on whatever day you plan to stop by.

I have scheduled the reception for Sunday Jan 13th from 2:00 - 5:00 pm (by doing this I have almost guaranteed that a couple of very close friends will schedule their holiday party that day!!!!). Since this is New England, this date is weather permitting and we can figure out a re-schedule if necessary.

I am looking forward to working with all of you and I know this will be a very good show.

Yep! "Very, very carefully" Okay, that is the last bit of humor that I can offer at the end of the year. Seriously, what has worked for me is reusing the air bags and bubble wrap that arrive in the boxes of my B & H Photo supply orders with the word fragile plastered all over the box. I use the bags as spacers between the surface of the box and frame but wrap the frame in a couple of layers of the buuble wrap. So far so good!!!

Hello folks. I plan on being down to the VPC this Sunday (roughly 11:15 - 2:00) and Monday (10:00 am - 2:00) so anyone who wants to drop off work can stop by. If you plan on stopping by either day, please let me know so I can let you know what to do when you get to Tower Square.

OK... those of you who may be showing up this Sunday or Monday, when you arrive at Tower Square if you could give me a call at the VPC (413-781-1553) I can come down to the ground level to bring you up to the gallery. Sundays the elevators & escalators are shut off and I or the security guards will need to assist you. If you see a security guard (I will let them know some people will be stopping by to drop off and others to pick up work) you can ask them to help.
On Monday, I think all access should be available as I figure that some offices in either tower will be open. If access to the mezzanine is closed, just follow the Sunday procedure.

Inventory today at work was a 12 hour ordeal... tomorrow should only be a six or seven hour torture!

Happy Noo Ye-ah to all!

Forgot something... park on the street (except in the usual ticket traps - fire plugs, crosswalks, handicap or bus stops) as it will be free and you can save yourselves a few bucks.

OK folks, it's crunch time for this exhibit. If you haven't delivered or sent your photos, you can drop them off this Sat morn so we can hang the exhibit in the afternoon.
17 APUG'ers have dropped off or sent in photos. There is still time to get your work here. This is going to be a good show with a lot of good photos.

James - thanks for volunteering as I appreciate the help. Whitey will also be there to help. Be prepared, I am a grumpy task-master!

My stuff was mailed on Wednesday morning by Priority Mail. I'm hoping it arrives at "In a Flash" tomorrow. I'd appreciate a PM, if you can manage it, to let me know that it arrived. Thanks so much for your efforts, Gene. It'll be great to meet you and the other participants on the 13th.

John - I'll check with Dave at In A Flash as I have to stop by his lab to pick up Ted's prints. I will definitely let you know when they arrive.
Bethe - your's arrived and are at the gallery. I will open them tonight when I start laying out what I have so far.
Thanks all for participating! :D

I want to thank Whitey, Art, David, James and Cary for their help in hanging the exhibit. It was a very good day.

I posted a formal announcement of the show over in the regular forums.

Yeah, it was fun. The exhibit looks great. Cary was really impressed with the way things went. This is his first exhibit and he is anxious. We will see everyone next Sunday.

Great Day

Well folks, it was a good day... errrrr great day! It was a real pleasure to see all of you and meet some for the first time.
The show looks good, filled with a lot of very nice photos. It was a real pleasure hanging this show. Thank you all very much for participating.
Here are a few pics of the day (sorry for the digi-snaps, but I wanted to get the pics up here ASAP):
From left to right:
#1 JamesG; Whitey Morange and his wife Eileen
#2 John Voss and his son's father-in-law
#3 Whitey hanging "Bill and Whitey's Excellent Feet" photo
#4 John Voss, Art Liam and David Matuszek (Gattsby1923)
#5 JamesG, Christine Pratt (VPC's new Director) and Cary (sorry - I am too tired to remeber his last name - he is one of James' students)
#6 Ed Loss (a master photogramist), Ralph (curator of the BatMan Museum!!) and some guy named gene... a real goof.
#7 Suzanne Revy, Art and Eileen

I also want to say that I have dedicated this exhibit in the memory of Bill Hahn who was an active member of NE-APUG and a great guy. This one's for you Bill!!!
