I developed my first FP4(+) roll ever in Microdol-X in 1975.
Since then I used many different formulas made by Acufine, Agfa, Amaloco, Ilford, Kodak, Paterson and Tetenal.
Now I routinely use a Pyrogallol developer for developing my traditional non-tabular 120 films. Pyrogallol has very specific properties which I prefer for my type of photography.
Pyrogallic acid is the most hazardous chemical in my darkroom. Unless you are used to working very carefully I would not recommend this developer because of known safety risks.
