This picture is stolen from an eBay auction, but it has the mystery ring that I got in a bulk craigslist purchase. What is the wide, black ring in the front-right? I can't figure out any way that it attaches to anything I have (1500 & 2800 series).

It goes on the bottom of the drum with the ring inside the lip of the drum. I have to look it up in the catalog as to name and exact function, but a new drum comes with the ring attached that way. I removed them immediately and have never used them.

Thanks.

I tried inserting it in the tank mouth, which doesn't fit. I didn't think of the bottom. I'm trying to imagine the function, but failing. But it sounds like I will be fine sticking it in a box somewhere and not worrying.

It is used if you want to roll the drum manually (for example if you don't have a processor)
