NA question, Should I buy maker or secondary accessories for Nikon D300?

I have been told to get extra batteries for my D300 and I thought I would like a cable release or as they are called for digital cameras, "a remote trigger".
My question is do I buy Nikon's products or can I get away with a secondary maker?
Nikon's En-El3e battery runs around $50 and secondary maker is about half that.
Nikon's "Remote Trigger" is $65. but a secondary is from $20 down to 11 bucks.
Does it matter? You tell me all wise ones. Share the combined knowledge you process!

I use third party batteries for my D300 cameras. They are just as good and less expensive.

I do use a Nikon digital remote release. I believe it is superior to 3rd party products, but then I haven't tested all that's out there.

Bottom line is Nikon does not make their own batteries, so are probably buying them from the same 3rd party makers.

I bought 3rd party remote triggers for Nikon out of HongKong and did not have a single issue. They are worth a try. I don' usually promote Chinese products,but when original part pricing gets silly,I change my tune.Nikon wanted $100for mine.Now, that's silly!

Buying Nikon branded stuff (accessories) works if it adds extra functionality when used with the camera -else it's a waste of money, imho.
I'd not do that for batteries though.
