N6006 Cable Release...standard threads?

Recently "scored" a N6006. All seems well but,... the few releases I have don't seem to fully engage the shutter. Any thing unique because of the location of connection??

Bog standard, thankfully! I had no problems with the cable releases I used with the F601 I had, and it's the same camera.
