I've added it to my eBay watch list just so I can see if somebody's actually willing to pay $50 for a roll of somebody else's photos. I also checked the seller's feedback. He once sold a "mystery auction" with "50 items" for $20.50. It turns out each of the items was a penny. It seems he traded in his morals for chutzpah.

whats the difference between buying a camera and finding that "bonus film from 1960 " to process + print it & this... i don't really see the difference . (other than it being on FEEbay that is )

Mainly three:

1) developing a forgotten film of the past is a challenging task itself, and in case something interesting pops out that's a bonus. However it goes, you take a glimpse to the world as it was 40 years ago.

2) Usually a toy camera with forgotten film isn't priced 50$ for the film only, so it's cheap fun.

3) This seller is an intentional scammer (see the "xbox's box" auction).

He's found a way of making money out of people's gullability and curiosity but eventually the negative feedback will pile up to torpedo what reputation he has. But by then I guess he will have made enough not to be worried.

The negative feedback already has piled up on him. He's got a feedback rating of 95.6%, which on eBay is pathetic. (I get very wary whenever I see a seller with feedback of less than 98%.)

That said, no matter what's on this roll, his buyer can't really complain too badly, at least not compared to the buyer who bought the "mystery auction" containing "50 items," which turned out to be 50 pennies! At least, assuming the seller actually delivers a roll of film.
