I have a yashica 635 with this metal bracket where the cold shoe should be. Any idea what it’s intended use is? Looks aftermarket but very professionally done.

In 1970, when I used a 6x6 TLR for my 1st wedding, my local dealer ensured I bought the Honewell 6x6 bracket to go with my 700 Strobonar. Although I later added the 35mm bracket, the 6x6 bracket would work with a 35mm SLR.

Fond memories!
