My thoughts on attending a Portfolio Review

I just recently got back from my first portfolio review at the Rencontres d'Arles festival, and wrote up my thoughts and suggestions for other photographers interested in such things. That is a very good summary of what to do and how to prepare for attending a "photo festival." I don't think that there is a substitute for trying to develop a thick skin for enduring some of the critiques that you will go through. Being able to separate your worth as a person and the product of your work is a really good thing to learn how to do.

I'll be at Fotofest Session 3.... however, I live just outside of Houston and would gladly drive into town to meet any apugers while they are here!

This was an informative, thoughtful review. I would suggest changing the link to go directly to that entry, as it's now a few months old but still of interest to people here. Thanks for sharing it...definitely something I will consider doing at some point.
