Just picked up a Yashica FX-D Quartz Camera. Comes with a 20-80mm lense. Total was $40 including shipping, it cosmetically is about %70, but it seems mechanically sound.

I was wondering, How are these? It has an AE function, Is it any good? Also, Lense mount! What kind of lense can I use, And is the 20-80mm any count?

PS: Sorry for all the threads lately.

Let's be real here. It's $40. Used even. And it's a Yashica - eek! If it was the worst camera on earth, you could consider it a Toy Camera and still have lots of fun. I think one of plastic modified Holga's costs that much.

Regards, Art.

It takes Contax/Yashica bayonet mount lenses. Zeiss lenses in this mount are very fine glass, and you can probably find a wide range of quality and price in used glass for it. I think this model was the same chassis as the Contax 139, with some different features.

Alright, check KEH I presume?

Also, Is that AE function worth using?

KEH is a good place to start, but be prepared for Zeiss lenses holding their value.

Try the AE. You'll probably like it, especially under conditions where you need to shoot quickly and the light's not too tricky.

The main shooting I do is outdoor portraits.. I like to keep the aperture wide open at most times.

The best thing about this particular camera is that you have a reason to shop cameraleather.com and choose a blue lizard or red cowskin or something really nifty to recover that body.
