Several months ago I bought a rather neglected Gandolfi,
this was made in the 1950s, and is pictured below as it appeared
on ebay. Although it was rather shabby I was surprised when it
didn't get a single bid, so I made an offer which the vendor
accepted.

I gave it some TLC, fitted new bellows and constructed a wet
collodion back for it, 10x8 in size. The Gandolfi came with a 10x8 back,
three 10x8 cut film holders, a whole plate back with three cut
film holders, and a half plate back again with three cut film holders.

I fitted it with my youngest Dallmeyer, a coated Serrac mounted
in a large compound shutter, this lens dates from 1960.

Although I can't use the Gandolfi at historical reenactments,
it will prove very useful for location work and the lens panel
is just large enough to take my biggest Petzval a Dallmeyer 3A.

great looking work - I think I noticed this, but decided to leave it (too many Gandolfi's as it is...)

Beautiful camera, and so easy to work with.

congrats.
