My Mamiya rb67 shoots only on one shutter speed

Hi there,
I recently piccked a mamiya rb67 with a 90mm and 150mm lenses up. I testetd the shutter speed with no film inserted and it sounded the same , across the different speeds. ( I tested it with the 90mm lens) Is this normal and does this camera need to have a film in it, so that the shutter speeds work or is it a biger problem?

The shutter is in the lens and controlled by the lens. The camera itself only sets it off. So, if your shutter only runs at one speed, it's because the lens needs service.
Edited to add: You may be confusing the mirror moving with the shutter. When you fire the camera, the mirror flips up, then the shutter trips. The mirror always flips up the same.

That's cheaper than getting the camera fixed but can itself be very hard to fix....

I think my RB sounds the same at all shutter speeds. Take off the back and have a look as you release the shutter with a cable release. I'll be they work correctly.

Try tripping the shutter with the mirror locked up. Then all you hear is the quiet click of the shutter. Shutter speeds faster than about 1/30 second will all sound the same, but you should hear a distinct difference in the slower speeds.
