My Homemade 4x5 Four Sheet Hanger Tank

I cooked up this 4x5 tank a couple weeks ago to do my X-ray films. Its working out quite well. A lot better than mixing up a lot of chemistry for those 12 hanger Yankee tanks and the lot. Most of the time any of us only have 1-4 pieces of film we want to develop. Ill be working on a 2 sheet tank soon. But for now, this 4-sheeter has worked out great. Takes 700ml of water, so only 7ml of Rodinal for 1:100, then throw the developer out as correctly exhausted, based on the 5ml per 8x10 recommendations.
I'm not familiar yet with this site, as I am new. Is there a way to post stl or gcode files on here for others to print them? Apparently I deleted the original Freecad file, but still had the stl. This is a pdf of the tank.

great job. Having both, a 4- and a 2-piece tank would be all one needs! You should be able to attach the stl files to a post just like any other file unless they exceed the 2Mb limit.

Not quite. Allowed uploads include .zip, .txt, .pdf, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .bmp, .doc, .ods, .psd, .xls
We might ask @Sean if he could add .stl to the list. Sean, could this be done? We increasingly see the need for people to share .stl files due to popularity of 3D printing.
Could you try the .pdf upload once more, please? I've made a minor change to your account which might have enabled access to this feature for you. If that works, you could also attach the .stl by packaging it into a .zip.

Sorry about the crack about behind the times. Nope, only jpeg's no pdf or anything else. I just don't wat to enroll on the 3D print file sites to upload these things I've made and then come here to post links. Maybe the problem is I'm still new here and the site owners are skittish about letting me post just anything. Can't say I blame them. Thanks.

That's not it; I lifted any restriction related to that.
When you click the 'Attach files' button at the bottom left of the post box, and then look at the extensions allowed, what list do you get?

I don't get a list like that. All it will do is show JPEG's only, in any of the folders I choose. Oh well, I'll figure out something to get these things to these people. In the meantime, today I've been revising the 4-sheet 4x5 tank with a thermometer holder. The tank is 144mm tall, which gives the typical hanger approx 1-2 mm clearance from the bottom of the tank. The thermometer has a 3,4mm passage for developer to fill the thermometer compartment, but not enough width to allow the glass thermometer to pass through and slide in the tank. It will hold a thermometer up to 8.2mm diameter.
I am currently working on a 2-sheet tank of the same design and will have that out directly. Please be patient. I've only been on here a couple days. I'm not here to sell, hiding behind a general topic post. I'm retired.

Check that the window at the bottom right of the folder index displayed is set to "All files (*.*)"

So that means there is no way to post 3d files on this site for people to download and print. I would either have to do it by PM and exchanging emails on an individual basis, or put them on sites like thingiverse and post the link in the body of a post. All of a sudden it looks like a free job. Heck, I was hoping these folks could just download a print file here.

I think, Matt already hinted at the option to create a.zip file with your stl)s and upload that. We can download those and unzip them;problem solved.

I just tried. It looks like it could have worked, except the zippered file was 2.5 megs, and it looks like I have a 2meg limit. I ould actually see the zippered file and click it. But the 2 meg limit put the nix on that. Oh well. If they want it they can PM me. We'll try that. Maybe I won't get hammered. Thanks for all the help.

Yup, there's a 2Meg limit to keep infrastructure costs manageable. You could use a 3rd party filesharing platform, although I readily admit all of these tend to have their own particular drawbacks, especially concerning link longevity.

OK, here we are. Two 4x5 four sheet tanks, holding approx 700ml liquid (you double check with your hangers). One tank with thermometer holder compartment that is exposed to the liquid. The other tank with no thermometer holder for stopbath and fixer. I have been using these tanks and they work well. The stl files are zipped. You can open them and print on your printer, although it will require Ender 3 or larger print bed. Suggest at least 35% infill with PLA filament. Print time is approx 24hrs on Ender 3 on Normal speed and resolution. These are the JPEG's of what they look like and the zipped stl files.
