Hello all,
here is the first Vandyke(kallitype) print i did. everything went smoothly and i really like the results. I may coat the paper twice next time though for richer shadows.

The staining is someother persons drying cyanotype dripping on my print on the rack. I smashed his face in, dont worry..
I also did some gum bichromate prints and will post them soon.

Very nice; why do you want to double coat ? It seems nicely toned as is ?

There seems to be dome uneven exposure on the bottom left, is it a coating issue ? The Cyano polution ?

Just asking, I'm going to do Vandykes in the next few days so I'm glad to see some examples :D

Really nice and moody.
I can hear the ghostly whistle blow.

The railway historian in me is asking: this was taken on the old abandonned CPR Kettle Valley Line right?

If you wanted, you could probably use some water colour paint to retouch the cyano blob. It's a very nice print. Looking forward to seeing more.

Yes it is the kettle valley railroad up in coquiahala.

The uneve exposure is only in the digital reproduction. The actual print looks a million times better. I promise!!

Recognized the place although I never been there. This spot was used often by Nicholas Morand, the official photographer of the CPR

ITs a bbit of a hike to get up there. especially tough with the 8x10 strapped on your back...
Next week i will be making tons of more vandykes.

Must be a beauty to see. I haven't noticed that it was a 8 x 10; blame it on a monitor and computer going down the drain (and the photo gear and books that a new computer represents  )

Keep up the good work and physical shape!
