Hi there,

I signed up for APUG so I can respond to your post as I am in the market for the 80mm lens. I am looking for a Contax 645 primarily for use in "special" occasions. Im not a pro by any means but am looking to get a medium format setup as a lot of memorable moments are in the near future (family weddings, babyshowers, etc). I don't have either lens you are looking for because I don't shoot MF at the moment, but am wondering if you are interested to simply sell the lens. Im located in Los Angeles, California. Please let me know

Dustin, I have a very well used but perfectly functioning Mamiya 7 and 80mm kit lens with clean glass in my dry cabinet that is looking for a new home. It is 67 format so could be much better for weddings and baby showers than a 645 unless you specifically wanted to use the Contax 645 with a digital back that is not possible with the Texas Leica well at least not yet.

windhorse thanks for the offer but I am pretty set on a 645. I have used contax t3's tremendously and am a fan of the zeiss glass. I am going to try and hunt down the 80mm f/2 until I settle for the Mamiya. Ive done a fair amount of comparison online and prefer the contax rendering among other things. Appreciate the offer though. Now if essensebe would reply to me, that'd be awesome LOL
