I'm pretty certain the "baby cage" picture was by the English photojournalist Bert Hardy, who was fortunate enough to be operating in an era when such "street life" was desired by newspapers and magazines, very different from today's market which only seems to place any worth on a picture if there's a "celebrity" in it.
