PLEASE HELP Hello there , tomorrow is big day , my 6X17 aluminum camera will be cut from aluminum by laser. I must be sure is the graflex optar 135mm f 4.7 outermost diameter is less or more than 76mm ? PLEASE HELP
Why I do want to learn ? I made 10 parts drawing of 6X16 camera for graflex lens with changable flange distrance with sliding lens board internally. Why ? Because lenses are not equally made , I made a sliding lensboard 120mm to 140mm lens flange to film distance variable. As I said lens diameter must not more than 76mm and I have to be sure.

I have a 135mm f4.7 Optar but I’m not sure exactly what measurement you are looking for.
As far as I can tell the max diameter of the lens itself is 38mm but my lens is mounted in a Graphex shutter which is approximately 63mm across not counting any appendages such as cocking lever or flash contacts etc which makes it about 75mm.

As mwdake noted... the serrated outer diameter of the Graphex shutter body is 63mm. On my example, the distance from the tip of the release lever to the tip of the flash contact on the opposite side is 78mm... measured with a ruler.

Lee , thank you very much , think upper and lower horizontal , distance 76mm sheet metal , can I insert your lens in between these walls and make it work ?

Just curious, are you sure your Graflex Optar 135/4.7 lens can completely cover 6x16 or 6x17 and do not vignette? The Optar lens just covers 4x5 with limited or no movements

Mustafa, orient the shutter body so that the flash contact is diagonal instead of vertical. Position the 'GRAPHEX' lettering and the shutter winder lever at the top, which makes the total height to the bottom of the shutter body around 68mm.
 
To allow for the shutter winding lever to be rotated to full extension and give unobstructed connection to the cable release socket... it is possible to position the shutter body so that it will fit between your 76mm limits and still be workable. This orientation places the "A" in 'GRAPHEX' at about the 9 o'clock position.

Dear Lee, I increased the 76 mm to 88mm and changed 8 parts of 10. Sent at the morning and cad guy drew the drawings. In few days , I will have a 6X16 Camera from fresh aluminum and I found a protective coating application center near to me and they will coat the camera withour tearing risk. All costs 11 dolllars. Super cheap and super high quality service.
 
Mustafa, increasing to 88mm will give you plenty of room. Yes, show us some pictures when it's all done.

Sorry, I’d already gone to bed when this post arrived but it looks like you may have gotten your answer from others.
 
I would love to see pics too, if you reference your fabricator/machinist they might get additional work
 
I drawed the part shapes and dimensions to thick notebook , took bw digital images and sent to cad guy . It took my 4 changes to the drawings to figıure out the complete design. I still dont know how to adhesive 1mm thick aluminum parts together and what kind of adhesive I need. There is two parts epoxy syringes , pratt german , branded , I think I will use it. I still dont know how to close back plate of the camera light stopped. I collected all the beyond the zone systems articles and printed. I am still trying to understand. I am looking for a 6X17 camera 135mm lens glassless viewfinder 3d print file. Camera is an something like wine bottle box , there are two internal screens cut from metal , protect the rolls from light and in between ,86X160 mm lens board slides in or out to match the unpredictable lens flange distance between 120mm to 140mm. I think I will glue plywood laser cut rails to the lens board to make movement firm. I will write and draw lines of flange distances to the bottom plate with laser engraving. Some optar 135s have 85 mm diameter with cock and flash jacks.
 
Unbelievable. Build before design.

I wonder how you're going to know when the lens is focused at any distance.
 
Does anyone know that hole size needed for this Graflex 135mm F4/7 Optar lens to be mounted to a lensboard?
