Hi All,
Here's the deal. Since the 1950s, I have saved multitudes of 35mm slides, mostly Kodachrome. I want to put them on DVD so I can inflict them on my family and friends, using my telly screen for "slide shows."
I have b/w negs in 35mm, 6x6, 6x7, and 6x9 at present, I would like to show the same way.
I would like to post b/w images from negs or prints on various forums. Largest neg would most likely, some day hence, be 5x7. I have Microsoft XP on my desk top computer and Vista on my lap top. I do not mind buying refurb, but would prefer a new scanner machine. $750 dollars is about max.
Questions: What scanner do I buy? Where do I buy it? Who would like a whole lot of empty Sawyers trays sent to them over the next year or so?
Please keep your answers simple.

The Epson Store at Epson.com/USA have the V700 and V750 Pro new that will match your budget. The 750 is $799 a little more than 750 but probably the better of the two based on features but either one will perform about the same for your listed needs. Prices include free shipping. The V700 goes for $550.

Microtek pulled out of the USA market so I don't really know who is left to supply new desktop film scanners that can handle sheet film other than Epson.

Thanks, Don. I have read the materials pertaining on the Epson site. My only concern is trying to learn to use the software. My idea of hi tech is an on-off switch. Gotta start sometime, tho, I guess. I guess I'll present the idea of the 750 to my bride.
