There are some great entries in this MSA. Unfortunatelly I won't be posting this month. I've been spendig quite some time with my father, who is in the hospital for 6 weeks now due to severe hart failure.
I made a portrait of his lying still in a hospital bed with the title " a hart in motion ". However there isn't time to develop it and I rather sit with him right now than hitting the darkroom.
But it is good to see what others made and shared here. It's a nice distraction.
So I hope to join next month in a new MSA.

Sorry to hear your father is so ill. Of course your place is by his side. I'm sure it is a great comfort to him to have you there. When you are able to participate in MSA again you will be most welcome!

RE: September/October MSA

Judgement day has arrived! I will be following MattKing's format:
Member - Title - Comment and choosing a second and third place as well as winner.
There were (by my count) a whopping 26 entries in the "Motion" contest.
11 were posted in the MSA Gallery (Would there were more. It makes the job of judging so much simpler seeing the entries side by side, rather than having to scroll endlessly through both text and pictorial entries in the thread.)
However, I believe I was able to view all submissions. Here, IMHO, are the results.
Flying Camera: Georgetown Fountain - Nice shot of water droplets frozen in the air and kids moving through them
Flying Skater - Skateboarder caught flying through the air, very much in motion
69 Seconds - An unusual picture of a very long crosswalk sign which allows people to move at a slower pace as they cross the street
Cyclist/Pedestrian Florence - A panoramic image of a lone cyclist as he passes by pedestrians who are walking.
Pedestrians on Footbridge Rome - Nicely seen folks strolling on a foot bridge
Sly: Garry Oak in Motion - This image of oak branches moved by the wind goes beyond the theme of Motion, creating a dramatic abstract photo.
Ten Speed - Joy Ride - An intense image of an all electric BMW i3 sports car careening along the shore.
OptiKen contributed two unique interpretations of the theme: Enzo' s Pizza Dough being spun around in the air and a Chair Lift moving people high above ground
macfred: Cyclist in Motion- A through-the-window capture of a cyclist riding by
Mechanic in Motion an interesting image of a person moving past a stationary vehicle which accentuates the feeling of movement.
Bertus entered four photos - Sax in Motion - a captivating series and unique interpretation of the theme, depicting the movement of the instrument as it was being played by the musician
swittmann: My Son in Motion 1 & 2 - both images accurately exemplify People in Motion with these high energy photos
pbromaghin: Hurricane Alyssa! - Wonderful capture of a spirited child as she jumps up, hair flying. The stationary background and mother add to the effect of vigorous motion.
Carriage: Street Scene - Motion depicted by several men moving along a sidewalk.
NedL: Driving Home - This one actually made me feel like I was in motion, looking through the car windshield, moving along the road toward home. I could almost hear the car's engine. Very impressive interpretation of the theme.
HiHoSilver: Ready - Not sure were the "motion" is here, but it definitely is sharp.
peter k: Zoom - Motion depicted by cleverly "zooming" the zoom lens
Fiesta - Lovely lady whirling her frilly skirt as she dances
Stars - Stunning capture of stars as the move across the night sky
B24 - Props spinning, this plane is ready for take off
Water Fountain - sparkling droplets as they drip from a fountain
Wind: An intriguing windmill as it turns propelled by the wind

After careful consideration and long deliberation I have chosen the following photographs for reasons mentioned above:
Third Place: A tie between Bertus "Sax In Motion" and pbromaghin "Hurricane Alyssa"
Second Place: A tie between peter k "Stars in Motion" and Sly "Garry Oak in Motion"
First Place: NedL "Driving Home".
Great thanks to all who participated. Believe me, it was difficult to make a choice from so many quality entries.
I now pass the torch to NedL, whom I'm confident will select an interesting topic for the November/December MSA.
Respectfully Submitted,
barbara ann

Hi barbara ann,
Thanks and yes it is. He is looking forward to our visits every day and he needs us to keep him motivated to keep fighting for his life. Just today I could give him a massage to his soar and swollen feet (retainig water) and I could see he enjoyed it. He's on a waiting list to get transfered to another hospital for open hart surgery and getting a mechanical hart pump, since he won't be getting a hart transplant for he is turning 75 next Saturday (I hope). With this pump he'll be good for several years more, without it there isn't much hope. The doctor said he has got the body of a 50 year old and a hart of a 99 year old man.
So please all say a prayer for him if you can. He needs all the help he can get.

Oh wow! That caught me by surprise! Thank you for the unexpected honor.

I will consider a topic and try to post one tomorrow.

P.S.
Does anybody know if this is the first time a pinhole photo was selected as MSA winner?

Please keep us updated on your father's condition. I'm sure we will all keep him in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he will be able to pull through this.
I know from personal experience how hard it is to watch a loved one be so ill. You are doing all you can to comfort him I'm sure. Let us hope for the best outcome!

Bert, visualizing the best for your Dad.

Thanks for the 2nd place spot Barbara Ann. I'd hoped to have more entries but have had little darkroom time this year.

Congratulations to Ned. I loved that picture and will be borrowing the idea some day. I beat you, though. A pinhole image of mine was chosen back in 2013. The topic was "High Noon".
