I've made several macro pinhole tries but no luck so far. The first two were not long enough exposures ( 1 hr, then 2 hrs. ) The last one ( 3 hors ) got a weak image, but I'd forgotten that the pinhole is too big. I'd also forgotten the magnification is wild... around 6 times bigger than life. Not sure if I'll have time to make a new one before this MSA ends, but if I do I'll post something.

Cyclamen - Portra 160, homebrew C41, Canon EOS 300V, EF 100mm f/2,8 Macro, Minolta Scan Dual III.

Film expired in 2018, shot 10/2020, developed yesterday, almost 3 years after it was shot. I guess it's old, but in a sense "new".

Ok first effort, we made an extension tube for de ole baby 2x3 speed, using an old shortened 1.5" used sink slip joint extension tube that we had lying around.
Still the length had to be shortenbed and cut down to about 3" in order to get an image that could be focused on.
Being white plastic, we then covered it with some black matte cotton cloth, ... photo Gaffer tape to keep the light out, and made a lens attachments out of some old scrap plywood, and some old metal sign material, so it could attach to the baby speed.

Then trying it our the old dang cable release broke, so had to use a pencil to fire the shot ... f11/16 @ 15th sec and you can see some of the camera shake in the Tmy 400@400 image. Developed in D76 1:1 for 9.5 min

Un-cropped or edited of a ... 35mm Nikon Macro Lens ;-)

The Ultron has a bayonet mount filter configuration, and I do not have any components to reverse. Not an issue, I did not read the description completely. I do have plenty other lenses I could reverse, but the truth is I picked my entry for the artistic aspect, and it takes work (in this case probably lick) to achieve! To me macro-photography is more on the scientific side of photography (and that is not where my head is at right now), but in many cases it does produce beautiful and amazing images.

Regardless the timeline - would be interesting to see, so please do! IMHO the exercise is what matters here the most.

Got it - but it depends entirely on purpose and subject - it can be abstract too!

This, for example, is a macro of a CPU cooler
This - Kala Namak salt grains and pic is toned with said Himalayan Black Salt
This is a sewing thread core on a phone LCD
This - a sandwich of two slides of a candle holder, oriented to produce mirror symmetry, resulting in a "face"appearing where there's none.
- All of these are made without a Macro lens - it's either reversed or a little bit extended standard lens - usually handheld

Macro is whatever you want it to be - similarly to any other type of photography

Sure, art has no limitations. I like the candle holders.

(NEW- Taken and developed September 23, 2023-unaltered negative scan)

Per the discussion that has taken place, just in case my previous submissions don’t count as macro shots, I hope this one does. Taken with my Olympus Zuiko 50mm f2 Macro lens, at full extension, at f2. (OM2n/Arista EDU 100 /HC-110 and inspired by Peter k.)

New - today - on Kodalith in a dedicated slide copier (has a built-in flash) with a Canon FtB attached to it, using a Rodenstock 60mm enlarging lens on bellows - developed in diluted paper developer. This is actually an iphone photo of the backlit negative, inverted using an app, posted on Instagram.

Bean Leaf

My guess is a print would be better.
It's 2-300%?
Anyway, that's my last one for this month

Lovely pictures here, everybody - hopefully you enjoyed the challenge!
- Loved to see some color macros and feminine flowers going on, you can almost smell them!
- Love the contrasty shots by Don_ih and was amazed by the Polaroid MP-4 - looks a purpose-built beast I didn't know about!
- And am enjoying the potting pot by @peter k. - nice!

Alas, I must choose only one and I found myself consistently enjoying @Don_ih works - congrats and please carry on! Your neighbor surely seems to love a funny plant or two
