macfred, that is a very tall door directly behind the table and chairs. 210cm or 220cm?

I like the simplicity of everything, soothing.

From 2016, so "old" -- Chair in an abandoned house basement. Long exposure - no idea what film - this is a crop of a scan from 4x5 shot in a Speed Graphic.

Mia and Mrs. MacFred in my favorite fish n chips diner in Laaksum / The Netherlands.
Great place to hang around, having a drink and some food. Always nice rock n roll music from the tape recorder too ...

New/Current:
These two are of benches that are on different sides of the Deas Regional Park in our area of Delta, BC Canada. They both were taken on the same roll of TMY-2, developed in XTol-R. I used my new to me Zeiss Ikonta 521-2 which I've recently learned has a Tessar lens made in 1935.
The Deas Regional Park is on land referred to locally as Deas Island, even though it hasn't actually been an island for many decades.
When they were building the tunnel that runs through the park - now known as the Massey Tunnel - they actually diverted one of the two channels of the Fraser River that once flowed on either side of Deas Island. The south channel was closed off, leaving a waterway that is now known as Deas Slough. That is where many of the competitive rowing teams in this area now train. It is a site I have photographed a lot.
Both images have been uploaded to the Photrio MSA Gallery - if you click on them, they display larger.
One of the two images is of a single bench looking south over the slough. A great place to rest in the midst of a walk, and contemplate change.
This image - "A Seat on the South Side":

The other image is of several benches, all facing north across what is now the main south channel of the Fraser River, looking across to Richmond BC.
The other image is this one - "Choose Your Bench::

And finally, another New/Current image, which actually references an image I submitted in 2019 for an MSA back then. It too is from a roll of TMY-2, developed in XTol-R, and I again employed my new to me Zeiss Ikonta 521-2.
This is an image of a memorial bench which has recently been installed in the North 40 Lands area in Delta, BC. That area has a really interesting history - a former WWII RCAF training base, followed by a top secret radio transmission interception base that was very active throughout the Cold War period. For many decades it was a self sustaining community with houses, schools, churches, a power generation system, stores, community hall et al.
After it was de-commissioned in the 1970s, most of the buildings were either demolished or moved to other locations, leaving a few remnants, a slowly being overgrown road network and many, many planted trees that have been allowed to grow wild.
The image for this MSA is of that newly installed memorial bench, which looks toward one of my favorite North 40 trees:
Here it is - "Memorial Bench":

And that tree it looks toward? That was featured in this MSA submission of mine back in 2019 - "Reach the Sky":

And the Selection Is :
Thank you all for your submissions to the October 2024 MSA.

I spent a better part of Halloween Eve viewing every photograph several times. It was trick and treat. The trick was to select just one from the treat of all the finely done images. A difficult task at that since there could be just one.

The one I have selected is by What About Bob. #1 - New image: 10/04/2024 "Chair on high". My reasoning was that the two trails appeared to have the chair at an apex where they met. Perhaps as a resting spot for tired hikers . Modest as that chair might be it would be a welcoming sight.

Congratulations.

Thanks again !

Thanks @jeffreyg - making that choice is a challenge - isn't it?!
Good choice made.
So it is your turn @What About Bob - we look forward to your new thread and new theme/assignment for the November MSA.
