A plastic ocean ... old one
48613619032_5e86dc3e99_h.jpg

It’s no ordinary whale swimming in the Catherijnesingel in Utrecht / The Netherlands. It is made of plastic rescued from the ocean.
The sculpture was made by StudioKCA / New York.

''We dump 8 million tons of plastic into the ocean each year. We could construct 19 life-size empire state building from that.''

Old category, taken December 2022.

Orca O319, a 12-year-old juvenile “offshore” orca, on display at the California Academy of Sciences. The Academy's website has an article about how they found, transported, and installed the whole skeleton at the museum:

Nikon FM2n, AI Nikkor 50mm f/1.8S, Kentmere Pan 400, developed in LegacyPro L110 at 1:31 for 5.5 minutes.

Time to choose just one....like I mentioned before, we had such a beautiful variety of submissions! Thank you, everyone.
In the end, I choose @Ivo Stunga 's Great Devourer for its beautifully seen and composed scene. I particularly appreciate the skill and playfulness it takes to create something new out of the ordinary.

Your turn to choose, Ivo!

Good choice Daniela. Well done Ivo. I've posted in response to a "define your terms" discussion on the new thread.
