I was thinking about this thread (and the other similar one) while out walking yesterday. Thanks to all who are sharing images and ideas.
I like it.
It will be very difficult to choose this MSA, it turns out to be a successful topic.

You make it sound like these were taken out of desperation
Just a reminder that because of the late start, this one goes to the end of September!
For me, the desire is to take those very pictures, not just something to photograph. They represent me seeing something in them. Most of the time I choose not to take photos of subjects that I consider hackneyed, cliché or just not appealing to me. I don't take pictures just to take pictures. No - not desperation. But the desire to take pictures. So you find something to photograph - maybe even where you already are.

OK. But first, let me say that for me, I carry a camera in case I see a picture I want to take. And I don't take photos if I have no interest in taking those photos. If I do not have a camera with me, or the light or situation is not what I'd like--such as too much traffic or people present or the proper camera and lens, I will usually return if possible to take the picture under the right circumstances.Try taking those very pictures without first finding something and having a camera. I'm not suggesting anyone is taking particular photos just to take photos - but that a lot of particular photos get taken because someone is looking to take photos.
Let's put it this way: how many photos would you take if you had no interest in taking photos?

If someone has a problem with this MSA, just go ahead and win a MSA and provide a better topic for the next one.
Bertus did win the previous MSA and chose this topic - he's saying it will be hard to choose a winner because of how many photos have been entered.
some were complaining about the topic
