Greetings all

The number of submissions is a surprise considering the truncated month and the challenge offering plenty of rhyme but no guaranteed reason.

I'll pick post #19 as the OLD selection. The four picture sequence by jeffreyg is remarkably adherent to the loopy theme and the technical quality is strikingly good; so I think.

"Some OLD ones : (1) BOATS barely AFLOAT in what might be considered a MOAT near L'Isle-sur-la- Sorgue, France negative scan of HP5 4x5, (2 and 3) part of a Dale Chihuly installation BOAT and FLOATS negative scan of DELTA 400 120 at the Fairchild Gardens Coral Gables, Florida (4) DINGHIES/ROW BOATS negative scan of Tri-x 400 120 near the docked Mayflower II at Plymouth, Massachusetts"

For the NEW selection I'll go with post #34 "Hire a boat that barely floats" by oneeyedpainter. New is hard to do, time doesn't wait, but those well seen boats hint to me of the Atget appreciation thread that continues to flourish on Photrio.

"Now for a new one, "Hire a boat that barely floats", shot on April 19th 2026, Regents' Park, London:"

I have to make a decision and it is jeffreyg with #19 who reigns supreme for April. May the May MSA fall to his inspired care.
I'll watch from the safety of my cave to see what happens.

Well chosen & well spoken @Maris

Thanks for the kind words @Maris, I'm chuffed. I have really enjoyed this first MSA, and have been looking forward to reading about the May theme since yesterday. As you said, time does not wait

Now back to our April's regent supreme @jeffreyg who will decree if it's a quay, a teepee, a bumblebee, an old tree, the number three, or a canopy.... let's wait and see....
