MSA November/December 2018 - "Celebrations"

First off, thanks to Matt for selecting my image as the winning entry. This assignment's theme will be "Celebrations". My inspiration for this was from having just returned from Mexico City where I went to photograph the events of the Day of the Dead (which, by the way, is an absolutely amazing experience - the festivities span over a week, with people getting decked out with Catrina face-paint and fancy costumes, parades with fanciful floats of fantastical creatures called alebrijes, sugar skulls, and even special bread called pan de muerto). This time of year, as the year draws to a close, there are many celebrations in our lives - Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, and just ordinary, personal events like birthdays and weddings. So point your camera at the celebrations in your life and let us see what you see.

A reminder that we continue to operate this "Assignment" with "analogue" constraints. If you are going to be doing any manipulations, they need to be "APUG" type manipulations - done with either light, camera, darkroom tools or physical manipulations - no digital manipulation.
The normal rules are that all photos need to be taken no earlier than the beginning of the MSA period - November 1, 2018 on.
