I like the moon barbara ann!

I took some photographs for this theme too. Sent them to Dwayne's about 3 weeks ago, and was really looking forward to seeing some of the other prints too. The USPS has this tracking info on my photos:

but they never arrived  Our mailbox is empty.
Maybe they were delivered to a neighbor by mistake, I don't know.
Our driveway has a huge puddle and I was afraid the carrier wouldn't come down our driveway, so I was actually out there waiting for them to arrive on Thursday, but when they came in the afternoon they didn't have the photos.

Oh Ned ! So sorry this happened to you. I use Dwayne's as well and my pics came on Saturday.
But! when I went to scan them into my computer, the scanner didn't work! I was furious. My daughter-in-law came by
and she figured out a work-around so I was able to get them in.
Now I have to figure out what's wrong with my scanner. It's always something...
Hope your pics turn up. Let us know.

Thanks barbara ann. My experience with Dwaynes is all positive. The post office must have been crazy busy right before Christmas, and our normal mail carrier wasn't working, Hopefully they will show up eventually!

10 month old Grace loves to watch the birds at the feeders. Especially excited when they all flew away - up, up into the sky.

She looks as if she would love to fly away with them! So would I!
(Nice interpretation of the theme, Sly.)

Two days left! I'll be out of town on New Year's Day, so judging will be late that evening or on January 2nd.

As a last minute entry, here is a print of my dad, who has now literally flown off to heaven. I made this image in 2002 and found it last week again when sorting out his stuff. He was sitting in his old truck and I photographed him looking into the mirror.

My father finally died on December 20th - sooner as expected. His prognoses were 3 months at first, but it reduced to three weeks and then just one week within days. His hart was damaged too much to keep going for long. So I brought him home to take care of him a week before he died because he wanted to die at home. We had a good week to do all the things he still wanted and to say our farewells. Then he went in peace surrounded by his family - as he wanted. It was good this way.

I chose this image since the only way I can see him now is by looking into a mirror at myself and see what is there from him in me (and that's a lot). I made this portrait, with my old Nikon F on Kodak Tri-X, when he was sitting in an old military fire truck from the Royal Dutch Air Force. It's a DAF YA126 from 1958, that he restored himself and rebuild into a camper and looks like this:

I'm glad I made these images back then since I inherited this fire truck and will keep it rolling - thinking of my father. It was his pride and we enjoyed our trips.
Lesson to be learned: spent quality time with your family and friends while you can - enjoy these moments and take photographs while you're at it!

BTW: these images won't be eligible for winning in this MSA since they were originally made in 2002. But I wanted to share it anyway for it is a wonderful theme.

The winner for this round is Bertus for Bubbles flying through the sky. I picked #3 and my daughter picked #5.
Honorable mentions to barbara ann and sly!

And thank you to Bert for sharing the portrait of his father. It is a heartfelt and moving photograph. My sincere condolences.

Congratulations, Bertus!
I think I like #3 and #5 best too, #3 a bit more.
So take us to the next round of MSA and I'll join again.
