It was, Toadman. I was shaking as I took the film off the wrapper at the development place!
Went straight for this one and let out a couple of "woohoo" shouts as I saw it!

We are taking a family vacation through the Pacific Northwest and then over to the Idaho panhandle. I'm bringing plenty of film and have a couple ideas for this MSA, but won't be home to develop the film and make prints for a few weeks. I think my wife is taking her laptop, so I'll probably check in on APUG occasionally

May I "SUGGEST" you take some photographs on your trip for this MSA?

And have a nice vacation with your family!!

Just posted a second photo.
I find this one interesting: the perspective compression of the tele lens setting in the zoom gave an effect that made the foreground look distant and the background a lot closer than it was.
Nikkon F6, mattrix meter, Nikkor AF-D 70-210 at 210, Meta35 exif data says f8-1/125. Provia 100f exposed at 64 with -1 development.
Taken from first floor of surf club, the foreground rocks are only metres away and are small, yet they look like a large water outlet into the sea. The first wave is only inches high, yet the one immediately behind is much bigger and the surfers in the background are in yet much bigger waves. But the overall effect is one of "miniature people", hence the name:
The power of suggestion.

OK. I've posted my "Suggest" submissions to the MSA Gallery.
Now I'll try posting them in the MSA thread.

Barbara Ann,
My compliments! For the photographs, your positive attitude and for posting these here also.
Your quote is very fitting here!
Thanks!

BTW: your three photographs together also suggest a story, a kind of fairy tale ... nice.

Here's a failed MSA attempt, but I'll post it so you can see what I was trying to do. There was smoke from a forest fire in the air, and it was very bright, with white sky, reflecting lots of sunlight. This was supposed to be a play on negative space, I thought the highlights on the lake to the right would blow out leaving only the reflections of hills on the water, and leaving the sky and water as negative space with the layered "misty" hills floating between. I should have known: acros has an amazing ability to capture detail in highlights.

I like the print anyway, but it's not what I intended

So your suggesting it's failure that turned out well?

I will only say that it suggests things to me.

You may not of gotten it in the photo, but you gave it us, ... me, in your description of what you saw and where trying to take.
Its a very good suggestion!!! Not a failure!!!

Thank you ..

Thanks guys. Yes, it failed to be what I envisioned, but the photograph itself is not a failure. It "suggests" a photograph may be worth printing even if it's not exactly what you had in mind.
