What do you think about us doing a project together?

I have three candidates here who are waiting to be reviewed:
  • Minolta X-700
  • Nikon EM
  • Minolta XD-7 (the aperture simulator ring is missing)
We select a project and discuss the next step. I then carry it out and show the result.

Everyone can get involved

make suggestions about what to do and how, and we will implement the step that gets the most votes. And then we'll see how it goes.

It can take a while, but it will definitely be exciting. We'll learn about different approaches and that would be the goal of this project.

Because it's not about a possible repair success

but about gathering as much experience as possible together.

Every idea is valuable, and if something doesn't work as intended, that's ideal. Because then we question why not.

Everything is casual

and requires minimal effort.

I am going to start a survey here and am curious to see if this idea will be well received.

I will then also show you which tools are available and can be selected. Technical documentation will also be at hand.

This means that my small mobile workshop with me as operator is available 🤖🛠️

I'm too fumbling but I'm interested in following the project. I repaired a Cosina Zeiss lens cap today. I had dropped the cap on a hardwood floor. I found the cap, a plastic piece and a tiny spring, somehow by divine guidance I put it back together. I was shocked.

A pleasant shock, I assume?

Ah, I see, my attempt to delegate the work failed 😝

OK, so I'll move on to the Minolta XD-7 and we'll look at how to clean the pneumatic mirror shock absorber, see

In any case, I count on the support of @RalphLambrecht ✌️

Andreas, I have no skills, no tools, and no mechanical/electrical insight or aptitude, but am a devoted and passionate follower of your fascinating and absorbing diagnosis and repair threads, as I suspect many are. Always looking forward to your posts!

Willy, thank you very much!

Maybe it wasn't a good idea and I should leave my little workshop for a walk in the fresh air again 😊

Anyway, we'll continue with the XD-7 in the same format as before, i.e. I'll give a presentation and show pictures 🙂

We'll start soon!
