I have a show of my recent work up at the Landau Gallery at Belmont Hill School. The details are here.

Most of the work, 20 pieces, are paintings, but there are 11 polygravure prints as well. The reception is at a bad time for most folks, Friday from 5 to 7:30, but I'm around every day after the 3rd and I'd love to show off the gallery (and my work, of course) to anyone who can make it by at just about any time. PM me if you would like to visit and can't make the regular daily hours.

The transition from a year away from work to full time teaching and mounting a show at the same time has been a bit stressful to say the least, but, hey... I'm an old hand, right? I'm on top of this... sort of.

Hope to see some APUG folks there.

Hey,
Thanks for the responses, folks. Here's a copy of the card image. It's a self portrait started in class, trying to show the kids that you can simply look at a mirror and start work - without a lot of preliminary work.

...and yes, the card is a joke about my recent brain surgery

That's great, Whitey! I wish I could get there. I might be really close, but won't have time for stuff. I have to testify in Lawrence in a few weeks, but I think they're going to fly me in, have me testify, and fly me back. I'll spend more time in a cruiser back and forth than anywhere else!
I hope you have a great opening and lots of visits!

Thanks for all the support, folks. I'm in the middle of starting back to work (as in full time, 60 hour week stuff) as well as getting ready for the show, so I'm not checking in as often as I have in the past year, but I do appreciate the kind comments from the group. I'll just assume all of you who want to be there are, in spirit anyway, and have a glass (maybe a sip?) of wine for each of you.

A very nice show, I highly recommend it. I had a few sips to celebrate those who could not attend.

I wasn't able to get down there yesterday. I would have had to bring the kids as my hubby had to finish up some work, but at the end of the first week of school they were both wiped out. Might have made for a disruptive opening.

I hope to stop by during the week, Whitey to see the show. Let me know when it would be a good time??

Thanks again, folks. irrev.rev, bdial and lots of old friends, with whom I could not get nearly enough time, made it a great reception. You were missed, Suzanne, but then I'll be more able to carry on a conversation with you if you come by when you can during the week. Just give me a buzz so I can figure out class schedules. The time is a little less crazy after 2:15 on most days, though morning is possible between classes. Invite still open to one and all. Drop by if you're in the neighborhood.

Mostly Paintings ...

Whitey!

We truly enjoyed the diversity of mediums displayed, the talents of the Host and graciousness of the Hostess!! An enjoyable evening.

John
P.S. Thanks for the heads-up re: PHSNE Show; I'm sure there will be a few things I just can't do without.
