Owned all from F to F6 with the exception of the F4. This IS the nicest looking F imo.

Many will probably scoff at this but I think the N2020/N2000 models are great looking cameras and very pleasant to shoot with.

No, I will not ....

The lady of the house has her N2000 (F-301 here - with Data Back MF-19) since 1986 - still works flawlessly though it has travelled a lot ... I replaced light seals some times ago.
I really like the Timer/Alarm function.

^ I like that the N2020 retains the "conventional" controls (shutter speed dial, etc). It has good ergonomics and is also quite rugged, unlike many of the later "plastic" N-series models.

N2000, a best kept secret. I own 3.

Automated solid brick with a nice focusing screen. Easy shooter leaving all the room to shooting effortlessly.

How does the 2020 compare to the F100.?
Thank You

The N2020 was one of Nikon's first AF SLRs (along with the F3 AF). The F100 came along later and has much more advanced metering, flash and AE features and much faster AF, making it one of Nikon's most sophisticated 35mm SLRs.

The N2020 is far simpler but still retains plenty of (to me) auto features if desired. Some complain that it's AF is slow but I find it adequate for most situations. It was made to use both AF and MF lenses and has a focus assist feature in the viewfinder for MF lenses.

A little known fact: The N2020 is the only camera besides the F3AF that can autofocus the F3AF lenses.

The N2000 is pretty much the same camera without the AF feature and, I think, a different focusing screen.

N2000 (F-301) is a manual focus camera with a proper manual focusing screen, and yet has a motordrive.

A unique winning combination with top notch quality. Can’t really beat the N2000 if you’re into street photography or candid shooting.

For me is original silver F, with plain prism.

Agree in full, and not only limiting it to Nikon cameras. It's the archetype of all beautiful cameras.

Here my personal top-5 list:

1 - Nikon F, silver, plain eye-level prism.
2 - Nikkormat, silver, early model (any) without accessory shoe.
3 - Nikon F2, silver, plain eye-level prism.
4 - Nikon FM, FE, FM2, FE2, (any), silver.
5 - Nikon F3/T

As already written by others, I am in turn astonished by how many people are persuaded that a camera as horrible as the F4 is "beautiful", but to each his own as usual.

Apart from it's pretty loud.

Yes, but that’s ok. Believe it or not, I’m addicted to Leica M winders. I own Seven and I use them all the time on the street. I don’t know why I keep on addind them
Apart from it's pretty loud.

Yes! But somehow sweeter sounding than a M8 and M9.
