For me it is a toss up between my F6 and F100. Apart from being worlds apart with regard to the price when new, the balance and ease of use has, they are so much alike it is a hard choice.

F2, plain prism, both with chrome finish.

Second place, nikkormat ft3. ... the only nikkormat ftx model without the aperture coupling pin.

Interesting. No wonder plain prism costs so much and DP-1 is much less. I was just thinking if getting DP-1, but I still don't want bird house on top of the F2.

yaaa, methinks aint gonna post another plainhead F2 pikchur

(especially as it would take me a day to decide black or chrome)

Plain prism, I’d go chrome, but with the metered prisms the cameras look better in black, because the meter is all black. But a chrome Nikkormat looks so good with period lenses since both the camera and the lens are a mix of black and silver.

My old Nikkormat FTn got me through art school and will always be my favorite, but a black plain prism F is a real classic...
