"Four years after they were discovered in a Thousand Oaks attic, more than 50 photographs by Dorothea Lange, whose "Migrant Mother, Nipomo" is considered to be the seminal image of the Depression, have been sold to the owner of a New York gallery."

These Lange images are press prints. Many have pencil notes made by Lange.

Thanks great.

At the Edward Weston exhibit this weekend in Omaha it stated the prints on display were recovered by one of Weston's relatives on the floor of a closet of his sisters daughter.

Wow.

I love reading about finds like this. Kind of makes you wonder what people of the future will find... "more than 50 corrupt zip disks were found in an attic and discarded"

My only regret is that I did not get to see the collection before it was sold.

Especially considering he lives in earthquake territory.

I think this is a great find. I love Dorthea Lange's work and think the ones I saw are great particularly the one of the elderly man looking up. I love the light on his face.

My favorite, too, of that group.
