This is latest snippet of gossip from the optics glamour girls. The bride under observation is lodged here.
I hope Ole will post wedding invitations on APUG soon...

I heard that they're planning on eloping; a quickie marriage in Vegas?

(hey, what is the European quickie marriage version of Las Vegas? (probably Las Vegas!))

But Norm, that's a tiny little lens of nothing at all.

I just checked with the optics glam gals and according to them, Ole's camera doesn't like his women to be bigger than he is.

(Laz127, you're thinking of gretna green in scotland as an old time favorite for eloped couples).

Yup that's the place. I think it began because a marriage could be performed "by witness" which meant the local butcher, baker or candlestick maker could officiate. I think I read that the blacksmith was most popular?

But Ole, it includes a Putztuch. Never pass up the chance of a free Putztuch.

I have the 36" f6.8 version of the Aero lens in the auction. It's big, but not 30 kilos big, so I fully intend to use it one day. Probably when the kids are old enough to carry it for me.

Is it a black and white Putztuch? I don't understand any of this conversation or the eBay information.

I suppose the Putztuch is analog - such things usually are.

I'm not certain if a Ross 25" f:6.8 is physically larger than my Schneider Göttingen Aerotar 500mm f:5.5? But "Big the Shutter" is larger than both of them - combined.

Ole, the Ross is f/6.3. It and the Aerotar might have about the same diameter front element, but the Ross is probably longer and heavier. But you don't want a little lens like that, you want a 36"/4 Wray. The last time I was at Surplus Shack, I saw a lens built along those lines. They were using it as a coffee table.

The Aerotar is not a little lens - it turned out to be a telephoto design with about 30cm back focus. It's massive - no relative of the Goerz Aerotar at all!

Not many people have seen one, except those who were at the Loen gathering

But is it big enough to use as a coffee table?

Cheers,
