It does work & lock properly when reversed, and the lever rotates 360° when off the rail, there's also a little catch piece you can reverse as well if you want but it's not critical.

True I fall into that category, my cameras get hammered, but I'd like to be able to pre-modification if it's experimental :D

Yea well... I don't know about you, but you know, beggers can't be choosers.

Still though, worried about a crown? I mean lets face it, crowns are common as dirt. So are speeds. Its one thing if they are asking "should I modify my wisa" (and my answer would still be, if it isn't doing what you want, hell yea!) I may think twice, or a voitlander studio camera (ed here in portland has one, huge thing!), ok, then you may reconsider. A crowngraphic? Who cares? Cut that dude up and make it do what you want!
