Here is the wee Wolly that I used to make the images that I shared in (there was a url link here which no longer exists).

I encourage you to go to the page at my website and look through the pictures made with this lens. I think it has a near perfect very subtle softness that would lend itself perfectly to portraits on 4X5.

On this lens I separated the 2 front glasses .032 inch which is equivalent to about 2 full turns on one of the larger Wolly's that had the factory Fuzz-U-lator. My mod is permanent though. This becomes a dedicated mild soft focus lens for your kit.

It's in beautiful shape, and the "Auto" shutter is working, although it's about 1 setting fast at every speed. Consistent though. So 1 second is a half. Half second is a quarter, etc. Very usable and consistent. Another quirk of these smaller original Wollensak shutters of a hundred years ago is that the cable release mechanism is fussy. I've been told that you can solve it by taking a dremel and grinding just the slightest cup shape in the bottom of your cable release in order to trap the little area that the release contacts.

Be careful. With this modification, the front glass protrudes ever so slightly beyond the rim. Watch your lens caps. Never set it down on the front element. Usually the front rim will engage and protect the glass. Not on this one. $255.00 includes shipping in USA
